Eko Atlantis City Opening

There will be heavy traffic in Lagos tomorrow, especially around V/I as several dignitaries are coming for the opening of the Eko Atlantic City Phase 1 inauguration. President Goodluck, Governor Fashola and even Bill Clinton among other "dignitaries" will be in attendance.

It will begin at 10 a.m so the Ikeja area may be affected as well (they should be coming in from the airport).

So you should be aware of the traffic situation by tomorrow.

"IF NIGERIA DON'T WANT ME I WOULD PACK MY BAGS AND LEAVE" KESHI

The Super Eagles coach has told Goal.com that his future as head coach remains unclear and he could be on his way out even if his side win the Africa Cup of Nations

Stephen Keshi has revealed to Goal.com that he is happy to pack his bags and quit if he is not wanted by Nigeria, despite having led the side to the Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Super Eagles coach came in for a lot of criticism about his locally-based selection policy and slow start in South Africa, but his decisions will be hailed as a master stroke if Nigeria beat Burkina Faso in the final on Sunday.
"It is my home country, and it feels great to seeing Nigeria advance to the final after such a long time," Keshi told Goal.com.

"I would love to continue with the job, but again, if it doesn’t happen, I don’t really care. I am a professional coach and I will pack my bags and leave."
The veteran coach, who also won the Afcon cup in 1994 with Nigeria, said he is not stressed about what people think about him, but that he will make sure that he plays the players that he feels are mentally fit and hungry to perform.
"In my side there are no stars. I opted to go with players who are going to respect me, listen to me and who are mentally fit, because that is what wins matches, not big names," he said.
Keshi said he would love to continue with the job after the Afcon, but that will depend on who is in charge of football in Nigeria.
"I don’t owe anyone any explanation, and I am not here to please anyone. If people like me then that's good but if they don’t, I don’t care. I am here to offer my services because I care about my country," said Keshi.
"When you have players that get along with each other and know that no one is a star then you are on the right track.

"Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done but I am proud of the progress that we have made so far."

NDLEA Arrests South Africa-Based Barber With 6.100kg Of Cocaine

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, have apprehended a Nigerian barber living in South Africa with 6.100 kilogrammes of powdery substance which tested positive to cocaine.

The NDLEA Airport commander, Mr Hamza Umar, said the discovery was made during the clearance of Arik Air passengers to South Africa. A statement signed by the spokesman of the NDLEA, Mr Mitchel Ofoyeju, stated that the drug had an estimated street value of N50 million

However, the 45-year-old suspect, Ozoh Chukwuemeka, who has lived in South Africa for 10 years, was said to have allegedly told narcotic investigators that he was made to believe the bag contained chemicals.
According to Ozoh, “a friend of mine in South Africa requested that I bring a bag containing chemicals from Nigeria to South Africa for 3,000 dollars. I asked him if it was drug, but he said it was just chemicals. “He paid for my return ticket and came to Nigeria. I am only struggling to take care of myself with my barbing business. If I had known that things will turn out this way I would have rejected the proposal. I have a daughter, but I am separated from my wife.”

Meanwhile, chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, described the suspect’s explanation as unacceptable. “In any case, ignorance is not an excuse and he will soon be arraigned under the NDLEA Act,” he stated. The release, however, assured that the suspect would soon be charged for unlawful exportation of cocaine as soon as investigation was concluded.
